CLD Electric started in 2004 with one truck, one 619 area code, and a guy who was tired of watching other people cut corners on electrical work in San Diego.
Twenty-two years later we've grown into a small crew of electricians serving San Diego County. But not by that much. We're still family-owned. Everyone on the crew is a W-2 employee — no subcontractors, no rotating faces. When you call the shop, you talk to one of us.
That's a choice. There are faster ways to grow an electrical company than the one we picked. Sell to private equity. Layer on flat-rate pricing so every job costs thirty percent more. Buy leads and rotate through subs. Push aggressive upsells. All of it works, financially.
We didn't do any of it. It felt like a shortcut to becoming the kind of company we wouldn't hire ourselves.
So here's what you actually get from us
Someone from the shop answers the phone. Every hour, every day, including 3am on a Tuesday.
Every tech is one of ours — hired directly, trained here, background-checked, and directly accountable to us. Not a stranger a leadgen platform dispatched to your address.
We charge time-and-materials for the work the job actually takes. Not a flat-rate that pads for problems that don't happen. A lot of the industry is going the flat-rate direction because it makes more money. We've watched it happen. We're staying with T&M.
We do the work once, and we do it right. If something we did fails on our workmanship, we come back and fix it. That's the whole guarantee.
The specific stuff
California C-10 Electrical Contractor License #877075. Fully bonded and insured. Trucks stocked with panels, breakers, receptacles, switches, wire, and the parts we know we'll need — so most jobs finish in one trip and you don't pay for us to run to a supply house.
We cover residential, commercial, and 24/7 emergency. Single-phase, 3-phase. 120V to 480V. If it has wires in it and it's in San Diego County, we probably do it.
Where to go from here
Best next step is to call us. If it's not urgent, we'll set up a time to come look at what you need and give you a real quote. If it is urgent, we'll dispatch someone as fast as we can.
